Description

This advanced workshop is designed to help clinicians integrate sand tray process into their work with families and groups.  We will use case illustrations, didactic and experiential methods to explore the power and possibility of integrating sand tray into one’s work with various systems. Participants should have a strong foundation in family and/ or group dynamics, in addition to training and experience with sand tray process.

Objectives:

  • Understand the rationale for using sand tray with families and groups
  • Learn to initiate & facilitate sand tray process with families and groups
  • Identify cautions and risks to using sand tray with multiple participants in one tray
  • Explore how to hold space for individuals within the system
  • Strengthen the ability to engage issues using symbol and metaphor
  • Experience sharing sacred space and symbolic process to deepen awareness
