Training Overview

This workshop is designed to introduce the basics of using sand tray in clinical practice. The group will be kept small to enhance the sense of a ‘safe and protected space’ in keeping with the spirit of the sand tray itself. Participants will develop a beginning understanding of this expressive therapy using both left and right brain methods.

We will look at history, theory, equipment and process. Concepts will be presented and then experienced, with ample opportunity for reflection and discussion.

  • Identify the difference between sandplay and sand tray therapy
  • Understand the power of metaphor & symbol in therapy
  • Learn how to create and maintain a miniatures collection
