I provide talk and expressive therapy approaches to discern, engage and resolve concerns with clients of all ages, orientations, religions & ethnicities. All approaches are evidence based, and chosen purposely for the unique circumstances of every client. Research shows that at the heart of all successful therapy is the relationship between therapist and client, it is from this place that the work evolves.
Clients are best helped by exploring good questions and different perspectives within the context of a nurturing relationship. No one way of being is endorsed, nor is there an attempt to provide simple answers to complex situations. Therapy and the results are not easily defined. Much of the process is determined by the personalities of the therapist and the client, the client goals and the particular issues to be addressed. “Successful” treatment is often subjective; progress will require an active effort on your part. Helping clients be more intentional in their own lives is one of my main practice values.
I thank god for you almost daily. You have been a compass in the middle of a storm, a mother bear protecting her cub, a light directed at the dark crevices, a source of truth that initially causes pain but ultimately leads to healing, a fountain of wisdom that guides our path, and a constant messenger of hope in our darkest days. We are forever grateful. -Adult client
You’re the best, best, best talk about feelings girl I’ve ever met. –Client age 5
When you ask a question it never seems like you already have an answer in mind. Usually when an adult asks a question, they already know what answer they want and I can figure out what to say. But with you, since you aren’t looking for anything specific, it forces me to figure out my own answers. -Adolescent client
